Why European Companies Choose German HV Training

Germany's DGUV 209-093 is the most detailed HV qualification standard in Europe, covering all vehicle types from passenger cars to commercial vehicles, test rigs and production machinery. Companies from Austria (Magna Graz, AVL List, Rosenbauer), Switzerland (ABB, Pilatus Aircraft, Stadler Rail), Hungary (Audi Győr, BMW Debrecen, CATL Gigafactory, Samsung SDI), Czech Republic (Škoda, VW Mladá Boleslav), Poland (LG Energy Solution Wrocław, Volkswagen Poznań, Stellantis) and Spain (PowerCo/VW Sagunto, Seat/Cupra Martorell) trust the DGUV framework as their internal HV safety standard. We deliver the training in English – making it accessible to international teams.

All training materials, slide decks, practical exercises and the final certificate are available in English. Our trainer has 10+ years of hands-on HV experience in international automotive environments. We travel across DACH and Central/Eastern Europe for inhouse sessions. For remote theory modules, we use video conferencing – practical sessions are always on-site.

Austria: Magna, AVL and Rosenbauer Lead DACH's EV Engineering Hub

Magna International in Graz is one of the world's largest automotive contract manufacturers, producing complete electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles for BMW, Jaguar Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz. The Graz facilities employ thousands of engineers with direct HV exposure – from body assembly to final drive-out of live HV vehicles. Level 2E qualification is mandatory for production staff.

AVL List, headquartered in Graz, is the world's largest independent company for the development, simulation and testing of powertrain systems – including full BEV test rigs operating at up to 900 V. Rosenbauer in Leonding develops the RT electric fire truck and HV-capable rescue vehicles. Steyr Motors and numerous Tier-1 suppliers complete Austria's HV-intensive engineering landscape. All these companies require DGUV 209-093 compliant training in English for their international teams.

Switzerland: ABB, Pilatus and Stadler Rail Drive Helvetic E-Mobility

ABB in Baden-Dättwil is a world leader in EV charging infrastructure and industrial electrification – its HV engineering teams work with systems from 400 V to 1,500 V DC. Staff involved in charging system development, HV testing and field commissioning require Level 2E qualification. Stadler Rail in Bussnang develops and manufactures battery-electric and hydrogen trains, with HV systems operating up to 3,000 V.

Pilatus Aircraft in Stans is developing hybrid-electric propulsion for its PC-12 and future platforms – a growing area of HV qualification demand in aviation. Leclanché produces large-format lithium-ion cells for maritime, rail and industrial storage applications. Switzerland's precision manufacturing and engineering culture means that safety documentation and certification quality are paramount – DGUV 209-093 meets that standard.

Poland: Europe's Fastest-Growing Battery Production Hub

Poland has established itself as one of Europe's leading battery manufacturing locations. LG Energy Solution operates Europe's largest battery factory in Biskupice Podgórne near Wrocław – supplying Audi, Volkswagen and Jaguar Land Rover. The plant employs thousands of staff with direct HV battery exposure, requiring Level 2E qualification throughout the production workforce.

The automotive sector extends across the country: Volkswagen Poznań produces the ID. Buzz and Caddy, Stellantis operates plants in Tychy and Gliwice transitioning to EV platforms, and the 46inEU project is developing next-generation cylindrical cell production in the region. All these sites require English-language DGUV 209-093 training as their German OEM customers demand supply-chain-wide HV safety compliance.

Spain: PowerCo, Seat/Cupra and Stellantis Drive Southern Europe's EV Push

Spain is rapidly becoming Southern Europe's EV manufacturing centre. PowerCo (Volkswagen Group's battery company) is constructing a 40 GWh Gigafactory in Sagunto near Valencia, scheduled to begin production in 2026 – creating up to 3,000 direct jobs, all requiring HV safety qualification. The facility will supply Seat/Cupra, Volkswagen and Audi platforms produced in Spain.

Seat/Cupra in Martorell near Barcelona is transitioning to full EV production under the VW Group Born-in-Barcelona strategy. Stellantis operates in Zaragoza and Vigo with active electrification programmes, and Ford Spain in Valencia is transitioning to EV assembly. Spain's government-backed PERTE VEC programme covers the entire EV value chain from battery cell to finished vehicle – making Spanish facilities key targets for supply-chain DGUV compliance roll-outs.
