What EV Workshops Legally Need Under DGUV 209-093

Any workshop performing technical work on HV vehicles must comply with DGUV 209-093 in combination with DGUV Regulation 3 and BetrSichV §12. The legal minimum: at least one FHV (Level 2S) on-site as the responsible electrical expert. All other staff performing general work on HV vehicles need at minimum FuP (Level 1S). Required PPE: VDE-tested tools to EN 60900, insulating gloves Class 0 or 1 to EN 60903, CAT-III measuring device. Without documented qualification, workshop owners face personal criminal liability, BG fines and potential business closure in the event of an accident.

Our training covers: exact legal minimum requirements under DGUV 209-093, the 5 safety rules for HV vehicles, hazard assessment, practical switching-off procedure, voltage-free verification with CAT-III device, PPE selection and correct usage, emergency procedures and first aid, and documentation requirements. We serve: authorised dealerships (all brands), independent workshops, accident repair centres, roadside assistance operators and vehicle dismantlers.

FAQ

Yes. DGUV 209-093 combined with DGUV Regulation 3 (§3) and BetrSichV §12 requires that at least one FHV (Level 2S) must be present on-site whenever HV work is performed. Without this, the workshop is not legally authorised to work on HV vehicles.
For qualified automotive mechatronics technicians (training completed after 2013): Entry B applies – typically 2 days theory + 1 day practical. This is the most common route for workshop staff and the most cost-effective.
Yes – inhouse is our standard format. We bring all training materials and documentation. You need a training room and the relevant vehicle(s) for the practical exercises. We cover all of Germany and neighbouring countries. Minimum group size: 5 participants.
Yes. For teams with mixed qualification needs, we combine Level 1S (FuP) and Level 2S (FHV) in a back-to-back session: shared theory in the morning, split practical in the afternoon. Efficient and cost-effective for small workshop teams.
